Gelderland sofa 10030 HEBE

When developing the Hebe, special attention was paid to sustainable production and use of materials. The cushions, arm and backrests can be detached from the frame without much effort. This benefits the lifespan and the parts can be reused or recycled. For this design, Studio Truly Truly looked at how the sofa could be made in parts to increase reusability and sustainability. The traditional wooden frame was replaced with a unified aluminum chassis. This method of production (common in the automotive industry) reinvents the current way of thinking about sofa production. Thus, the same frame of the Prime 10010 can be used. In doing so, we have taken recycling a step beyond the traditional cradle to cradle of sustainable materials. When designing the sofa, we replaced most of the foam with natural springs and eliminated 96% from the gluing process. A nice continuation of the sustainable traditions already deeply rooted at Gelderland, such as the use of solid and layered beech wood and replaceable covers. The Hebe is also available as an armchair or loveseat. All furniture in the Gelderland collection is entirely of Dutch origin. Our products are handmade in our own factory in Culemborg. We give a 20-year warranty on the beech wood body and a 7-year warranty on upholstery fabrics, leather and foam. In addition, our unique strip upholstery makes it possible to reupholster Gelderland furniture, making it last for generations.
